Theater closets
I've been working on some big closets for the old theater in my city for the last month or so. It's a big project and has been really fun. Something that made it even more special was the ammonia treatment on the oak, directly translated from swedish it's called 'smoking oak'
Oak contains tannin acid and when exposed to ammonia the oak turns darker/greyer. The fine thing with this, is that it's a chemical reaction that goes deep down in the fibres, instead of staining.
No one at my work had heard of this treatment, but I had tried it during my education, but in a very small scale. And now we where gonna smoke about 100 square meters of oak. Quite a challenge.
But man, working with ammonia isn't vera pleasant! I had offcourse all the safety equipment on, but still... that smell!
We just got dones yesterday with the assembly and I promise to submit some photos of it soon.
Photography
Fall is definetely here, the trees are turning into a wonderful red-orange-yellow dream, the sun is shining and it is just so fucking beautiful.
And my lenses are in for repair
But I'm hoping to get them back next week, and hopefully there leaves are still on the trees. If so, you can also expect some nature photographies from me.
Cheers!
