As part of Artisan Crafts Week here on deviantART I'll be doing a series of interviews with some of dA's most prominent crafters.
Next out is ~orudorumagi11 - thank you so much!!

First off, please introduce yourself? Who are you, where are you from?

My name is Won Park. I am a dollar bill origami artist and I live in Honolulu Hawaii.

How did you get started doing your craft?

I was first introduced to the art of Origami from my mother when I was five years old.

How would you describe your personal style? And when did you know you had one?

I would say that I'm very precise in my folding style. Artistically I would say that I very eccentric. I noticed this when I was about fourteen years old.

What tools and materials do you use? Where do you create - home, studio?

My hands and crisp brand new dollar bills. I also use a nice sharp pair of tweezers once a while for very small folds. I fold anywhere I can.

In your view, what makes a great crafted creation?

In my opinion, you need to capture the essence of your subject no matter how complex or simple. You need the essence to make a great model.

Do you take your own photos? Any tips you want to share for presenting your work?

I take some of the photos. Lucky for me I have some professional photographers for friends. They help me out a lot. Tip wise, I would say keep it simple.

What inspires you when you create?

Inspiration come from everything around me.

What are you up to? Any projects planned?

I am currently finishing work on a project for a non-profit in Brooklyn. As for future plans, I am thinking of doing some costuming.

Where would you like to see deviantART head in terms of it's Artisan Craft galleries and community?

Maybe a special section for tutorials.

Input from `Myana “There is! Tutorials, patterns and how to’s can be found in Resoucres > Tutorials > Artisan Crafts”

What are your fav pieces of art on dA?

This piece is by Brian Chan. I love  this piece, It really captures the frailness of the mayfly.

This piece reminds me of my childhood. I use to watch "Tom and Jerry" when I was a kid. Also the artist did an amazing job in capturing the scene.

I love Fantasy art and this is just beautiful. It's all leather made by hand.

:thumb68619745:
I'm a big Lego fan and a Transformers fan. So this too cool. The artist made this from scratch.

What's your favourite creations of your own?

I think is my best piece. It really captures the essence of the Koi fish. I'm very happy with how it turned out.

I like this piece because it's eccentric.  Who the heck folds a toilet?  Well, I guess me.

12) What is the best tip you can give to others
A) If you want to do something you should do it. Don't put it off till later or you will never get around to it.

Wow I thought people who did this printed and used fake notes.
So much for that theory...

Great work and a great interview

I thought people who did this printed and used fake notes.

No, people who print and use fake notes are called counterfeiters.

...and the US Secret Service likes to "talk" to them.
