Cosplay photos has a new home
There has been some recent changes in the Photography gallery and cosplay photos now have a real home! Photography -> People & Portraits -> Cosplay
Artisan Crafts > Textile > Costume
is the gallery for handmade costumes (i.e historical, cosplay and original designs) that you made yourself.
The focus is on your textile crafting ability, not how well you portray a character - the costume must be visible in the photo!
Photography -> People & Portraits -> Cosplay
is the gallery for the professional cosplay photographers to post their photos.
is the gallery for photos of others (friends or strangers) at a con
is the gallery for photos of you or a friend in a bought costume
is the gallery for close-up/portrait photos where the costume can't be seen
is the gallery for photos where the majority of the costume is covered up by props, pose, or camera angle no matter if you made the costume or not!
If you have many deviations in the AC-gallery that really should be in the newly created one, and are in need of a mass-relocation button - note me and I'll help you.
Please include a link to your costume gallery (i.e [link]) and I'll move all deviation from that gallery to Photography -> People & Portraits -> Cosplay
(I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow, so it might take a couple of days before I can do it, but I will help you all!!)
Pleeeeease help me spread the word about this, link to this journal and let everybody know about the recent changes!
Some helpful articles to explain you what cosplay is:
DAOS-The Way of The Cosplayer Pt 1!!
The DAOS 15-The Way Of The Cosplayer Pt. 2
COSPLAYERS LISTEN UP! - which is a little dated, but explains what should go to Artisan Crafts and what not pretty good.
^Kitten-of-Woe, `taeliac and I are planning to do some education on cosplay vs costume really soon, and there we will try to cover it ALL!
So if you have any questions, thoughts... anything - please ask them in this journal and we'll make sure to include it in the future articles.
