Touristagency - the shop by Myana Touristagency - the shop by Myana
The touristagency of my city, Örebro (Sweden) is obtaining new premises and this is a part of a huuuge interior job a coworker and I have put over 1000 hours on.

shelves, small cabinets and drawers for storing and displaying souvernirs.
On the 'island' (bottom right photo) there will be a glass shelf on top

Personally I think the handles don't fit at all, nor having lock on every single cabinet. oh welll....

Material: mdf
Finish: white varnish

Interior architect: White

I guess you're correct, the ergonomics will make it tough just locking those things. Perhaps concealed click locks would have been cooler or simply handle grooves.

The lights, where is the light source? Are they lit from lights above?

there was a light-architect involved, deciding all the lights. overall, there are tons of lightsources and you're correct, the slefes are lit from above

This is really impressive, Jenny! The time that you and your co-worker put into this project shows through very much, and I think that the tourist agency will be very happy to see what you've done for them. :)

PS. I kind of have to agree with you on the handles, although what can you do.

aww, thank you, brennen!
I've heard from people working at the touristagency that they are VERY pleased, and that's always so relieving to hear :)

You can really tell that so much work went into this. This handles are rather....off...but if that's what they wanted. *shrug*

i like the way the cupboards and modular shelving system kind of reflects the tiled floor... shame about the size of those handles, perhaps the client should have thought about 'subtlety' and had some nice concealed finger pulls instead... ah well!

very well done for all your hard work!

yeah, we asked them if they were sure about those handles or if they wanted to change - but no, the wanted them... oh well, not much to do then!

sometimes you just have to let the client see their choices through, even when you know a better solution...

the handles and locks- it's that "institutional look" and if thats what the customer wants... you (and your coworker) did a great job!

Wow! This is massive! I agree with you about the handles. They seem too large and obvious, but I'm still in awe over the fact that all of this work was just done by you and a coworker! Fantastic!

Such a 'clean' look to all of this...would be great for a self-inflicted OCD person like me :)

Great work, as usual.
